چکیده

The standard genetic code multiplet structure as well as the correct degeneracies, class by class, are all extracted from the (unique) number 23!, the order of the permutation group of 23 objects.

The multiplet structure of the genetic code, in one and small number

In this short paper, we show that the multiplet structure of the standard genetic code is derivable from the total number of nucleotides contained in 64 codons, 192, a small number. The degeneracy class-number is derived as the number of numbers coprime to the number of Family-Boxes involved for the quartets, the doublets and the singlets. Those for the triplet and the sextets are computed as s...

The genetic code Via Godel encoding

The genetic code structure into distinct multiplet-classes as well as the numeric degeneracies of the latter are revealed by a two-step process. First, an empirical inventory of the degeneracies (of the shuffled multiplets) in two specific equal moieties of the experimental genetic code table is made and transcribed in the form of a sequence of integers. Second, a Gödel Encoding procedure is ap...

The genetic code degeneracy and the amino acids chemical composition are connected

Introduction The genetic code is the " dictionary " of life that translates the encoded informational messages stored in DNA (the genes) into proteins, the constituents of the living matter. This translation process occurs in specialized organelles located in the cells, the ribosomes, where finite strings of mRNA-codons of variable length (copies of individual genes) are transformed into finite...

Lie Superalgebras and the Multiplet Structure of the Genetic Code I: Codon Representations

It has been proposed [1] that the degeneracy of the genetic code, i.e., the phenomenon that different codons (base triplets) of DNA are transcribed into the same amino acid, may be interpreted as the result of a symmetry breaking process. In ref. [1] this picture was developed in the framework of simple Lie algebras. Here, we explore the possibility of explaining the degeneracy of the genetic c...

Lie Superalgebras and the Multiplet Structure of the Genetic Code II: Branching Schemes

Continuing our attempt to explain the degeneracy of the genetic code using basic classical Lie superalgebras, we present the branching schemes for the typical codon representations (typical 64-dimensional irreducible representations) of basic classical Lie superalgebras and find three schemes that do reproduce the degeneracies of the standard code, based on the orthosymplectic algebra osp(5|2) ...
